Notes

Easy once you get the hang of reading the chart. Hints for beginning lace knitters (like me) who have only knit lace in the round or from a written pattern…
They don’t tell you but:

  1. Read the chart from right to left on the odd (RS) rows and from left to right on the even (WS) rows.
  2. Putting markers between the pattern repeats at the beginning helped me get the hang of the starts and stops.
  3. Start the row from the beginning of the chart (remember that the grey squares are just place holders to make the chart more readable not slipped stitches or stitches of any other kind) then knit until the red line that marks the END of the pattern repeat from that row, go back to the red line that marks the BEGINNING of the pattern repeat and then knit through all the way to the end of the chart (it’s like a ‘coda’ in music).

I have also chosen to wrap only 10 times rather than 20 as indicated in the pattern as I found a 10-wrap bobble large enough and a 20 wrap bobble seems as if it would be too large for the look I want.
