Decided to do a faux seam up the back and ‘ladder’ clocks on and above the gusset.

09-11-2021 how to complete pattern (provisional)

Have increased on either side of the ‘ladders’ on each side up to 80 stitches. Sock measures 30cm from bottom of heel with sock on foot/leg.

Next: Knit pattern as established for another 5 ladder ridges, stopping right before the 6th ridge (29 rows).

Make sock ‘garter’ starting from center stitch of faux back seam:
Row 1: Purl row
Rows 2-6: P1, K4 repeat around
Row 7: Purl row

Switch to gauge-size needle (2.25) and knit solid except for faux back seam for 10 rows. Start rib from back seam and proceed as follows:
P1, K1, P1, K2, P1, K2 repeat for at least 36 rows and try on before bind off.

11-08-2021 At the top

I made it to the top, but after my experience with the first pair of long stockings, I found that the ribbing is not enough to hold them up. They’ll stay up if I put them on over a pair of tights (especially woolen tights) but I made enough ribbing at the top that I can tie garters around the top to keep them up on my bare legs.
Ribbing was 15 rows With 2.25 mm needles and then 20 rows with 2.5mm needles, Super Stretchy bind off in pattern with yarnovers.
