Cast on 120 st. to make the smaller version of the cowl with this beautiful, soft-pink silk/merino blend.

Finished the first pattern repeat this morning and I have to say that this is a wonderfully easy lace pattern to follow, the relationship between rows is easy to see as you go. I have put a stitch marker every 2 repeats so that I can make sure that I stay on track; but, I have to say that this is the first time I’ve knitted lace and not had to frog back even once :).
The pattern is also really pretty, especially in this wool/silk blend, feminine but not overly ornate. I would certainly suggest this as a project for someone who’s a beginner with lace.

Finished this morning and very pleased with how it looks. I added a vertical repeat because I wasn’t getting the row gauge with my substituted yarn and it’s still just about 14.5” vertically rather than 16.5” but I tried it on before soaking and it seemed a perfectly nice depth. Fun pattern to knit! Now I’m tempted to try the square version but I don’t think I have enough yardage of a light fingering just yet but I’m going to keep it in mind the next time I sort through my stash :).
