Notes

The project only took about 3/4 of the skein so I have a little ball left over. My husband was and still is super enthusiastic about these gloves. He saw the picture in the magazine and said ‘that’s kinda cool’ but when he opened the package at Christmas I thought he might tear up! He shows them off to almost anyone who’s willing to look. It took quite some time to finish them due to the fine gauge but it was well worth it.
The yarn was lovely to knit and has held up well with no pilling despite hard wear. I added his initials and a heart to the left palm in the same ‘gansy-style’ purl accent and the fine gauge allowed for excellent definition.
Instead of doing the ring detail on the left hand with the purl stitches of the pattern, I used a contrasting green yarn. In addition, as my husband has smaller hands than the pattern was for, when my gauge swatch came up smaller than the pattern gauge, I just went with it and they came out exactly the right size.
