Notes

The weather was too tempting and the combination of snow and sunshine made me cast on yet another project - but something feather light but cosy. Having read that others came up short on yardage, I’ve added a few stripes earlier on in the first section in an attempt to conserve my MC (ice blue) and for CC1 I’m combining ‘Anis’ and ‘Sulfur Yellow’ as they are tonally very close.
Very fun to knit but I would suggest doing a small sample (in any old scrap yarn) of a few repeats of the lace pattern A before you begin the shawl. As I went I began to understand how the repeat should look relative to the row below, but, not before I’d made quite a few errors (some fixed and some not!). Had I understood the repeat visually before I began, I believe I would have been better able to catch/fix these mistakes.

Still need to wash and block but I like the way it came out. Very light and very warm. I was hesitant about the contrast with the pink but as I used it for the crocheted bind-off I like the final look. I really improvised with the colours, using bits of leftover from my Mosi Hat and just doing a sequence that looked good to me - so, not like the pattern but I’m happy anyway ;).

Finally got it washed and blocked today, so much bigger now! Unfortunately as I was washing it I found a dropped stitch and an accompanying hole :(. Repaired it while the shawl was still wet in the bucket and now I don’t see it. Glad that Gilitrut is such fuzzy, sticky yarn :).
