Started this shawl as a project I want to propose for a knitting class that I’ll be starting in May. It’s easy and will be perfect for this area where you need a light shawl that will fit in your purse during the day and pull out easily (with no wrinkles) as soon as the wind picks up or the sun starts to go down. The picture shows it unblocked so each square will be bigger once it’s finished. I still have to find the beads to weight the corners.

Okay, blocked and finished, still waiting for the beads - my husband is supposed to bring me some glass ones when he comes back from Venice. Wore it out for the first time this morning and it feels heavenly! Light and with great drape. My only regret is that, even after blocking, I might have liked to have it a bit larger (I still had a fair bit of wool left over). If I make another one I will increase the size of the squares to at least 60 st on either side of the marker.

Update: My husband brought me the most beautiful Venetian glass beads to finish it out. So happy with this, I’ve been wearing it almost everyday.
