Decided to add some ribbing at the waist for visual interest and to keep the color ratio more balanced. I don’t want it too much on the dark side as it’s for a young girl.

When I reached the bind-off for the cardigan underarms I’ve found that somehow I miscounted and cast on only 152 stitches !?!! Good thing it’s a cardigan and I can make up the difference in the button band! Meanwhile I changed the spacing to: purl 34, cast off 8, purl 68, cast off 8, purl 34. I have checked it on my daughter already and she’s slender so this will be fine for her. I have also made it longer, 12-1/4” from bottom edge to underarm.

have joined the sleeves to the body and just worked the sleeve side of the decreases until the body and sleeve stitches matched the pattern directions. getting there slowly slowly!

Finally finished the yoke and got the collar/button band picked up and on the needles. Tried it on my daughter and it looks really nice. The accidental ‘slender fit’ worked out just fine. Looking forward to having this one finished before Christmas.
