Notes

To be honest, I’m using all of the Ard Thir colours but I got tired of adding colourways so I’m just putting it here smile I ordered the original ‘sample’ set of all of the colours, I made a hat and had some left over, so I made a headband with one skien, but I still had quite a bit left. So, I decided to make some new socks for my husband while sitting out the Coronavirus lockdown here in Italy.
I have to say that it makes nice socks and works up very fast! I made the first pair in a day and am almost done with the second pair.
Cast on 40 stitches using german twisted cast-on, then 7” of ribbing for leg, heel flap and Dutch heel over 20 stitches. Standard gusset (reducing by 2 every other round across heel). Foot and custom toe to accomodate my husband’s very slanted feet!
Embroidered tiny crown à la Jean-Michele Basquiat - both a wry reference to one of my husband’s favourite artists and as a record of when they were made.
