Notes

I’ve been working on this sweater for three years now and I’m bound and determined to finish it today. I began and frogged it no less than 3 times (partially because I couldn’t make up my mind if I wanted a cardigan or a pull-over). the 3/3 ribbing is a hard rhythm to keep but it did make it easier to shape the back, which I really like) and show off the structural qualities of the yarn which gives great definition to the shape.

Knitting is done, after 3 years in the workbasket I gave it a thorough rinsing out and it’s now on a pile of towels on top of the washer. Still making up my mind about how to finish out the closure, buttons or nothing? Just use a pin every time. I’m thinking of gilding some antique leather buttons but I only have 3 that match…mmm?

Asked my wonderful husband for advice and he suggested a Norwegian pewter clasp. I’ve found just the one to take this cardigan from ‘rustic’ to the structured elegance I was hoping for when I designed it.
