Okay, finished! That was a quick easy knit. I was also pleased to see that it goes up to an adult size of 40” chest circumference so, despite the photo, it’s not just for kids. Notes:

1. I’m still a bit flummoxed that, for the collar, you pick up the same number of stitches you cast on, so why not just knit the collar in garter stitch and then place the markers and start the raglan increases? Next time I’ll do that and save myself the trouble of picking up the collar stitches.
2. As this is knit back and forth, I slipped the first stitch of each row to keep the edge looking tidy and it worked well. If you do this, be sure not to pull the yarn tight after the slip or you’ll end up with a tight edging band.
3. I’m going to line it with fabric and put buttons, something this warm and cosy needs to be able to be closed in front to keep my girl warm if it’s windy, it’s so thick that she won’t be wearing it over another sweater!
4. The yarn is really nice and puffy. The colour changes are subtle enough that there was no evident ‘pooling’ even when doing a smaller round on the sleeves.

Although my yarn knits to gauge, the given size for 8/9 years seems giant for my child. Since it’s top down and the cast on numbers are the same, I’m going to knit up the 6/8 and see how it fits her before making the final increases requested for the 8/9. note I’m a bit confused that the pattern requests size 15 needles but the gauge swatch is worked with size 13 needles…I get gauge with the 15’s so I’m going with that!
