Notes

A great project for using up single skeins of beautiful, textured yarn. This yarn was the my first experiment with long-draw spinning. It was a tiny skein and I wanted a quick project on larger diameter needles. Something that wouldn’t aggravate my RSI but still satisfy my stymied creative energy.
This project was the perfect solution and since the yarn I spun was inspired by the hull of the borlotti bean, I decided to call it my ‘bean bag’!
I washed and dried my skein and cast on 25 stitches on U.S. #8’s and got going. The very fast (and wrist friendly) result was this little bag that’s just the right size to hold two little balls of sock yarn! completed, unblocked bag is 6” from bottom to top of point, 3.25” in the center and 7” along the bottom.
I added an I-cord strap to use up the entire skein and gave it a special, antique shell button closure.
