DONE! I split the thread into its plies for sewing in. Worked really good. I think the whole thing will probably felt a little bit, so the ends will be really secure.

Had to frog my first attempt.
a) Stupid me forgot the increases after the brim and trying to wing it looked truly awful.
b) Mirroring the cables didn’t work.

Problem A was easy to solve. Problem B seemed harder, but actually wasn’t. My first idea was to knit the cables the right-handed way, and this is it. Works like a charm, I just have pay attention and take care to not mess it up. But that’s by no means a fault of the pattern, it’s my brain. The pattern is great!

Started yesterday. The needles feel HUGE after knitting with 2.75 mm needles maximum for a long time. One thing’s sure: This is an instant gratification project.
The pattern so far is straightforward and easy to understand.
