Notes

Okay, so this hat. Let me tell you about this hat.

Well first, the name. Math pun! The golden ratio in nature is like… pinecones and pineapple spirals. The pattern sort of does that, and it’s golden in colour. Get it!?

I cast on this hat in March with the intention of making the pattern slouchy, following the suggestions of this project, and did a longer ribbed section. I actually finished the whole hat, and realised that it was too beret like for my style. I prefer a hint of poof, with lots of slouch.

So I ripped everything back to the ribbing, reskeined and set the yarn (so ramen-y), and started again.

I knit it pretty much to pattern, however I started on row 2 (or 6, no real difference) of the pattern, just because I liked that slower transition before the split.
