A second zombie-ish shawl! First one, of course, is here. This time we’ve got aliens…ooooooo! Or, as I prefer - The Silence, ooooooooo!
So, this shawl. It’s a funny shawl. It started off when I realised the little edge chart on Laminaria totally looked like creepy Silence faces and knew I needed to make it. But, I was not feeling the beginning star chart. So I figured “I’ll just do all blossom chart, and then Creepy Face time, woo!”. Yeah, it was really hard to figure out the numbers for that. But then! I realised that Echo Flower already did the work for me!
So technically, I knitted Echo Flower, with Laminaria’s first edging chart. I figured since it was Laminaria’s edging that I loved, I should tag it as that, but it was pretty 50/50.
And then! I ran out of yarn. So I ripped back the couple inches I had, to the base of the Creepy Face, and bound off there. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I do like how the spaces between the Creepy Faces look like the com-badges on the Enterprise. So, I’ll take that as a win.
On size/yardage used info -
I have 12 Creepy Faces per side, and the shawl weighs ~61 grams.
I have about 5 grams of yarn left over from the original 961yds/142grams
And photo explanations -
First six are obviously just shawl shots, with bonus!dog, because of course.
7th is my mom being a bit troll. She takes the pictures, and since we were doing a photoshoot/taking the dogs for a walk, I shoved the shawl in my pocket on the walk home (omg it was too warm). She thought this was too funny not to snap a picture.
And the last four photos are as near as I got to before/after blocking pictures. I was unsure if it was going to block out big enough, so I took it off the needles, and properly blocked the blossom chart part, to see if it would grow enough. It did! Yay!
