Notes

I didn’t want a seam down the sole of my foot, so I used a provisional cast-on, and then grafted the ending stitches to the cast-on stitches. Then I closed up the toe and seamed the back of the heel.

For the cast-on for the second half of the slippers (after binding off for the foot opening), I had a hard time figuring out what kind of cast-on would match the opposite bind-off. I finally did a knitted cast-on, but purled the cast-on stitches instead of knitting. It was perfect! The top edges of the slipper match beautifully.

For the short rows, I wrapped the stitches using Cat Bordhi’s method, which is normally quite invisible - but I actually liked how the slippers looked with the WS out, with the wraps visible. I thought it added a bit of interest - so I seamed them with the wrong-side out. So technically, my slippers are inside-out.

They fit well, and are quite comfortable. I don’t expect that they’ll hold up extremely well to wear, since the yarn is so soft, but that’s OK.

Each slipper took nearly an entire skein of yarn - just a small amount left over after seaming.
