I have a small head, and knit loosely (especially ribbing - probably because I’m a Continental knitter), so I needed to downsize this a little.

I used a worsted-weight yarn instead of Aran-weight, and went down to US 5/3.75 mm needles to get a reasonably firm fabric.

Cast on 112 sts, using US 5, using a long-tail cast-on in 2x2 rib.

Worked short rows until 44 sts between markers.

Size is good. It could still probably be one set of short rows narrower, but it’s fine.
