Notes

Decided to knit the sleeves top-down, so that I could adjust the length as needed. That meant modifying the lace pattern, since it won’t look the same if you just knit the chart upside down. I did a couple of swatches, and decided that it looked best if I inverted the chart, and then moved the decreases to the opposite side of the YOs.

I didn’t do any waist shaping, because I made this for someone in a wheelchair. Otherwise I would definitely put in the shaping, because without it, the back tends to flare out a bit - especially since the cardigan just hangs loose in the front.

Length: 13” from hem to underarm, sleeves 15” from underarm for bracelet length.

I only used 7 skeins, but my cardigan is shorter in length and sleeve length than the pattern called for. If I had made it the dimensions in the pattern, I would definitely have needed at least 8 skeins (the pattern calls for 9).

Nice, classic cardigan. No problems with the pattern.

I like the yarn for a wool/cotton blend - too bad it appears to have been discontinued. Bought it at Webs on closeout. It’s a true solid black. The photo with the closeup of the sleeve was deliberately over-exposed to show the lace detail.
