Notes

Took about 10 grams of yarn.

Very quick - took less than an hour, including the felting process. I may felt it a little more at the end, because you can still see the stitches a bit.

Easy pattern suitable for a beginner who can decrease and work in the round.

For the final rounds after the last decrease, I just knit them as i-cord.

The pattern has a small error - it tells you to “wrap the end of the cozy around a pan”. That should be “around a crayon”.

You can see how they crayon is used in the video on the website. Any similar-sized lightweight object would work. I didn’t bother using anything - I just curled the end and let it dry.

A note on the decrease rounds: The instructions are slightly ambiguous. You should repeat both the “knit x” and “k2tog”, not just the “k2tog”. It’s fairly obvious when you look at the resulting stitch counts, but people who are used to having parentheses or asterisks to mark sections to be repeated might be confused.

The pattern also lists a disposable razor in the materials list, but doesn’t explain the purpose in the pattern. It’s used to shave the felted cozy before blocking it (see the video).
