Practice for “throwing” instead of “picking”.

Did 17-stitch, 17-ridge squares. I worked the bind-off row AFTER completing the 17 ridges to make seaming easier. (Some people said they bound off on the row which completed the 17th ridge. I tried that, but then couldn’t figure out how to do the seaming without interfering with the last garter ridge.)

I initially started out by picking up stitches along one square to start another, but I didn’t really like how it looked, and since some edges would still need to be seamed anyway, I decided just to seam all of them. I don’t mind seaming, so it wasn’t a big deal. It was kind of a pain to weave in all of the 100 or so yarn tails, though.

Used the dark gray as the main color for the squares, seamed and did edging and straps with the light gray.

Acacia09’s diagram was very helpful in seaming.

Worked 3-stitch i-cord around the top edge
5-stitch i-cord for the strap, 140 rows
30-stitch chain for closure

Stitched a split-ring inside to hook keys on. If I decide to line it, I’ll remove it and put a ring or loop on the lining.
