Don’t have the pattern, just going by the construction image from Nihon Vogue. I love a challenge.

It worked OK, but my proportions (width to length) are different from the pattern, so I don’t know if it actually looks quite the way it should.

My rectangle was only 7x21” before seaming. I made it a little small on purpose, since I figured it would probably stretch and grow with wear.

I didn’t block the fabric - I think I’ll soak the hat and see how much it grows. Then I may make another one that’s taller (wider rectangle).

ETA: After a soak and being laid out to dry, my finished hat is about 8.5” tall by 10.5” wide. It fits pretty well now.
