Notes

The finished shawl weighs 63 grams. After blocking and then letting it relax for a while, it measures 23” deep and 56” across the top.

Knit exactly according to the pattern. I’m surprised at how little yarn I used, as I am not usually a tight knitter.

Beautiful pattern, beautiful yarn… what more could you want? I love Zephyr, and since I used much less than I expected, I have plenty left for another shawl.

I rated the pattern at the higher end of medium, because it’s designed to get progressively more difficult as it goes along, and the border will definitely be challenging for people who don’t have a lot of experience with lace.

It really did help to put a lot of markers in when knitting the border on (as suggested in the pattern), because I periodically found myself off a stitch or two in the body stitches that needed to be picked up. I didn’t put them in every 4 stitches, since I didn’t have enough markers on hand for that - just every 8 or 12.

I really like the half-circle shape, and I especially love the border.

I tried a new technique with the nupps, which worked out quite well. Instead of a single YO, I used double YOs, and then dropped the extra YO on the reverse side before purling all of the stitches together. It made the loops nice and loose.
