12/16/12 This one gets white and blue stripes on the inner band, with vintage DK held double. Also getting Grouch Marx brows.

12/17/12 This hat has been problematic. First I used red, teal, brown, and orange to stripe the inner band. They looked amazing together in their respective skeins, but it just looked like an eye-searing mess in the hat. I pulled that all out and started again with the nautical navy and white. That was beautiful and I knit happily along until I ran out of orange :( In an effort to keep the materials cost down, I had to rip back and I’ll be striping the orange with the white, at a different stripe rate than the inside of the hat.
