July: Ran into a problem with the chart, did not notice until I was on row 13. Corrected but continuing with the repeat I had established (didn’t want to unknit it). Contacted Knitscene a correction is available.

Next row will start the increases. I went 14 rows to give some length (I’m 5”10”)

August: still working on body and sleeves. My mind is wandering and I’m making changes as I go (when things get repetative my mind starts to ask the question “What would happen if I tried this…?” Sometimes it makes me start a new project and sometimes I just change things. So far I’m just changing on the fly with no idea whats going to happen). Renamed my sweater: Calhoun Sweater. My great grandmother on my mother’s mother’s side was Ida Kennedy Calhoun. She was a special part of my family when I was growing up and I think she would love what I’m doing.

Went down a size for sleeves. Have joined together and I’m doing a more traditional decrease the underarm area appears to be very loose want a more conservative fit. No longer on pattern just making it up. There will be a simularity to the pattern with the front cables but if all else works and I don’t frog the hole thing and start over and do it right I will have a Calhoun Sweater

Love my sweater it could be a little smaller but feared the ribbing would hug to tight for an old lady. The big change is in the sleeves after it was pointed out to me that the sweater had asemetrical cables (which I knew) I got creative. I made the sleeves narrower to start, added thumb holes so they’d stay put and on the right sleeve I added the missing cable, it rejoins the front panel just before the finish. (some knitting faries made me do it)
