Notes

Original note on Pinterest board, autumn, 2015:

My current physical therapy is focusing on my hands, fingers, wrists, and arms. Beginning to knit again would further this work. I think a splendiferous symbolic gesture would be to knit Jennifer Aniston’s comfort cardigan from the chronic pain movie Cake…the one she wears as she begins facing what has happened to her and her new future. I intend it to be a comfort item as I face my new normal.

10-26-2016

The two main yarns are the Patons wool and the Elann natural denim cotton. My aim for the sweater is for it to be comfortable all the time--bra or no bra, home or out, flare day or no, doctor’s office or happy occasion. The remaining colors are all complementary worsted browns from other projects, mostly gifts, which makes me happy to see--that’s from Margaret’s hat, that’s from Mom’s socks, that’s from my striped sampler blanket, that’s from that alpaca Mom and Dad bought me when they visited the alpaca farm…

It is semi-modular in design, so you work the sleeves as you go--I have completed the back and the right front, and am going down the left front now. What’s left in the original pattern is to seam down the two sides.
I think I may add a little length by, after seaming, adding a ribbed bottom (this will also make the cast on back more uniform with the cast off fronts) and matching ribbed cuffs to elongate the sleeves.
