Even though I got the gauge (5 st/6 rows per 1”), and the finished circumference (19”) was as spec’d in the pattern, the hat turned out too loose on the edge. The weight of the fabric is okay - so I think I’ll need to go down a couple of needle sizes for the rib.

I successfully used the jogless stripe technique to keep the pattern matched up: When adding a new color or stripe, prevent a jog at the joining point by lifting the right side of the stitch below onto the left needle and knit it together with the stitch.

At this point I’ve decided to rip it & decide later whether to redo it or use the yarn for something else.
