Checking your gauge

To ensure your square will be 10”x10” after blocking you will need to knit the cross rib stitch pattern at gauge, 28.5 sts = 4” (10 cm). It is important to knit a gauge swatch and adjust needle size as needed to get gauge. This step will take extra time, however it is the only way to be certain your finished square will be the correct size.

Knitting Cables
The pattern uses several cable stitches that are defined in the stitch glossary of the pattern. All of the cable stitches in this pattern are variations on basic crossed cables.

Here is a link to a video that demonstrates the concept of crossed cables:

Please note: There are 2 Setup Rows before you begin the Chart pattern. They are different than the Cable Pattern/Chart. Make sure you do the 2 setup rows first.
