I made some changes to this scarf and turned it into an ascot because I like the neat knot that shows both front lace panels.
CO 31 stitches
did 4 lace repeats
switched pattern to the chain lace mesh from But I’m Biased pattern
the ascot knot is done by taking all the odd number stitches in front needle, even numbered stitches to back needle, knit these two pieces separately for 2.5-3” (?) then join the stitches back to one needle in original order.
the ascot is knitted from both lace panel ends and then I joined the two pieces when I ran out of yarn using Kitchener stitch (ending both panels in WS row). It worked like a charm- can’t tell the join at all. I used exactly one skein, and it’s just the right length. Will definitely knit more of these in the future.
