Stashbusting project.

I’ve avoided the messy bun hat craze like the plague, but this pattern popped up on Pinterest and I thought it was cute.

Due to some comments on the pattern page, I started with 72 rows, instead of 80.

Completed the main part of the hat in a few hours. Just need to make and attach the bow.

I think I’m short a cable cable row section? I’ve counted my rows and compared it to the pattern, but it looks like the hat is too short. Indeed, it does feel too short. Photos from others seem to show 4 repeats before decreasing, while I only have 3. Regardless of directions, I didn’t have enough yarn anyway, and I plan on adding another repeat next time.

Also realized after the fact that I need to switch to an I hook after the band section.

As the hat does feel too short, I think I will gift it to a tween.
