First official entrelac project. I’ve practiced the technique before, but I’ve never made a wearable. This is not a quick knit.

Much happier with the colorway than expected. The photos of the yarn in projects online seemed kinda…ugly and drab. I doubted myself for picking up this color, but now I’m happy with it. Looks much prettier in person.

Definitely the most error filled project I’ve ever made. I would restart this project but the yarn definitely can’t handle the frogging. I’ll only undue the work if it involves a few rows at most. I knew I should have practiced the scarf with an easier yarn for the first attempt.

At this point I’m just trying to keep my errors consistent, though there is one mistake I have stopped making. I realized that when I picked up stitches for each rectangle I was not taking the last stitch and making a p2tog or ssk, therefore having more rows in each rectangle than needed. Fortunately it’s really difficult to see those kinds of mistakes in entrelac (but I know they are there).

Thinking of making this into an infinity scarf. The yarn contacts annoyingly at the ends and edges. Since the yarn is acrylic there isn’t an effective method to block it.

Had a short break. This project feels like it’s taking forever. Why are scarves so long?

Went to add the second ball of yarn, and as suspected the color transition is opposite of the first ball. They’re the same dye lot, too. I guess same dye lot, but different spools? I think it’s only noticeable if you’re really paying attention. The green in the middle goes on a little too long. Still annoying. But the scarf now has symmetrical color shifts, so there’s that.

This monster is finally finished.

It’s too long for my 5’ tall body. In retrospect, I would have only used 1.5 skeins. I had wanted to make an infinity scarf, but I would have to wrap it around three times and it was way too bulky.

I noticed that the rectangles at the beginning look larger than the ones at the end. Not sure if that’s because the earlier rectangles stretched over time or if there’s another explanation. Not sure what to do since it’s noticeable. Being an infinity scarf would have helped cover it up.
