My new little nephew has a little lion toy he adores, so I thought he might also like this little plush.

The lion pattern is really cute and doesn’t take much time. The face is difficult to place symmetrically due to working in continuous rounds. Also, I always have problems attaching the feet evenly. I expected the lion’s body to have a more oblong shape, but it is more spherical.

The tail was a pain. I’m not exactly sure how to change colours amidst chaining. I guessed my way through it. Hopefully the orange won’t detach itself from the chain. (=_=;)

I initially planned to use acrylic yarn, but ended up going with cotton because I have so much of it lying around. The plush looks nice, but cotton can be a pain to get the tension tight and even. I actually had the specified Vanna Mustard yellow leftover from the Katamari baby hats I made at Christmas. I don’t like the colour and used the Peaches & Creme yard instead.

Even though I decided on cotton yarn, I forgot and used acrylic for the face. Probably for the best. The cotton brown I have is a little too dark.
