A stash busting project.

The falafel sandwich project was one of the main reasons for purchasing Tasty Crochet, along with the stir fry, dim sum and sushi sets. I love falafel and just had to make this project, especially after working on so many amigurumi projects and baby hats that all had many little pieces needing to be attached. =__=

Also, being vegan, I thought that this would be a good project for my son. While he doesn’t actually like falafel itself, the food is still familiar to him.

The patterns are easy peasy. Definitely a walk in the park after dealing with the plushies and other stuff I’ve made lately. If you’re interested in trying amigurumi and aren’t comfortable with crochet, this is a good project to try.

So far, I’ve made the pita and one lettuce leaf. It wasn’t until I finished both individual pita pieces that I realized that there was one final direction (I had another book lying on top of Tasty Crochet to keep it open). * facepalm * So…I whipstitched the two sides together and intend to make a second pita. No harm in having duplicates.

Update 6/19/2012

I’m calling this project finished.

I have made a few more additions (as well as a correctly made pita), but otherwise haven’t added much else. It’s a complete set anyway at this point.
