This is a plush I made as a prop to correspond to my Ranka from Macross Frontier “Seikan Hikou” costume. While it is referred to by fans as a “slug” phone, I’m convinced it is a salander as gastropods don’t have conventional feet. (^_^;)

I started and restarted this like eight times. In the end, I still didn’t make the plush wide enough.

Originally I planned to satin stitch the eyes, but forget that. Went with buttons in the end.

I’m debating remaking it, but wider and perhaps tapering the head sooner. I have a lot of projects planned for Halloween, so I’ll wait and see.

All I have to do is add the button eyes and it’s finished.

Yay! All finished. (^=^)

Finally made it out to Jo-Ann and pick up some green embroidery floss. I didn’t have the Simply Soft yarn I used for the plush, so I had to guess. Usually I’m better at matching colours without a reference. I suppose I hadn’t looked at the slug phone in a bit. The floss I picked out is similar, but definitely not the right green. Oh well. The shank buttons cover it well enough.

Now that the whole thing is assembled, there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement.
