Notes

Making this for a friend. Studied the cowl on the movies and opted for the design featured in the 3rd-6th movies. But making this a tube for warmth and to avoid 1x1 ribbing. Oh to have a knitting machine for 1x1 ribbing!

13 thick yellow bands with 12 sets of black and yellow stripes between.

Based on the ratios I could observe from the movies and balancing with my gauge I’m working the following:

Thick yellow = 24 rows
Black = 3 rows
Thin yellow = 6 rows

The thin yellow stripe between the two black appears to be twice the thickness of the black. And the thick yellow stripe appears to be just under 2x the length of the black/yellow/black stripes combined. Hence the result in numbers of my rows.

All done, ends woven in, just need to Kitchener the ends shut and block this big baby!
