Trying for a newborn size… Right now it looks impossibly tiny.♥

Next time will use K1, KFB rather than M1 in garter section.

Button holes on rows 6, 14, 22. (I read 8 rows instead of 8 ridges. Hoping it still works out nicely.)

Decided to knit sleeves in the round. Knit 25 stitches, put 28 on scrap yarn, knit to last 53 stitches, put 28 on scrap yarn, knit 25.
Plan to pick up 7 stitches under each arm for knitting on dpns (total of 35 stitches per sleeve). I don’t think it needs a full 14 but we’ll see! (ETA: Good call on picking up the 7 rather than 14.)

Body ~6.5” from underarm to bottom edge.

Measures 15” around chest, flat and unstretched with garter band overlapping. (prewash)

Did not decrease bottom of body by 10. Since the buttons are only in the yoke, I prefer an A-line shape.

I think the size will be just right :)

The sweater fits perfectly…

Update 8/1/2012~
N is now 7 months old and still wearing this sweater! The sleeves come just under her elbows now and the A-line shape has sort of allowed it to “grow with her”. It has been through many machine washings and I’ve even put it in the dryer. Sure, it’s showing some signs of love, but I couldn’t be more pleased with how well this little sweater has held up! ♥
