Test Knit for JenMama - suitable for a beginning color-work project. I love skulls - fun - and the crown decrease - nice proportion to the hat - no heavy blocking needed to make it ‘hat like’ (instead of bucket-like or cone-head-like :D ).

I made a smaller pom-pom than specified - I think I like the look of the bigger one… maybe my next one.

Photo (with ruler) demonstrates ‘jobless’ color change between black/red: slip last stitch of the round before color change, begin with ‘new’ color on the next stitch and knit around… the slipped stitch pulls the next row’s stitch down a little so the beginning of the round is a little less obvious… it’s not perfect but better than the sudden ‘step up’ effect that usually results. YMMV.

The Anne Geddes yarn is pretty nice for being Acrylic (it has some nylon it, too)… It comes in nice, bright primary/secondary colors (not just pastels!). It would be warmer with some wool, but it was a decent alternative.
