Notes

Absolutely darling hat, I’m very pleased with the finished result. I made a newborn size and used yarn from my stash. I have enough yarn to experiment with a bigger size still.

The nose on the picture looks like it was crocheted, but the pattern does not provide instructions for the nose, so I just decided to use a 3rd button for that. but don’t get me wrong, the nose would be easy to construct starting with a small circle to create a granny triangle.

The pattern for the newborn size says to skip to ‘hat bottom’ after round 6, but still gives instructions to complete a round 7, and a round 8 with no instructions. However, I decided to skip rounds 7-8 and went directly to the ‘hat bottom’ as previously instructed and all worked out terrific.

This was my first experience with the Loop Stitch, and I easily found a YouTube tutorial on how to do this. I found the stitch to be easy to catch on with and kind of fun.

Love this pattern, thanks Newborn Knots for coming up with a great 3 dimensional design that will be cute and comfy for a baby.
