Notes

Clear, well-written and charted pattern.

I used Miyuki seed beads, from www.crystals-and-ice.co.uk #8 in light and dark rose. Each was added using a 0.60mm crochet hook. Placement for beads: one on the first central double decrease of each leaf. I’m beading the centre spines of the leaves and lace diamonds on the final chart. I hope this will give weight to the edge without it looking overpowering.

Chart 5a needs careful attention to ensure that the k2tog, ssk in the first row of chart 6 are aligned in the right direction to create the lace diamond shapes.

I used blocking wires for the first time with this shawl and not only is it so simple its a total revelation. This shawl is huge, I’ve been able to work out a shawl size properly for the first time ever, now I know how easy it is to really block lace I suspect I’ll be re-blocking a lot of my lace shawls over the coming months. I can’t wait to wear and show off this beauty!
