When I used to hike alone…I would get paranoid and think things like:
“What if I trip and fall and am unconscious with no ID? How will people know where to take me?”
“What if I get bitten by a snake and can’t talk?”
“What if I’m mauled by a bear beyond recognition? How will the park ranger know who I am?
But a hat with a pocket for my ID and/or a note with emergency contact information would be perfect. Never hike alone without it…
