Regarding the yarn used in this project: It was dyed by my favorite indie dyer, See Jayne Knit. Jayne custom dyed this yarn to my specifications. I emailed her some photos of my cat, Cricket, who passed away in April 2012 and asked her to dye some yarn with the colors in Cricket’s fur. She did a spectacular job!

March 3: working on a new design idea…
March 4: isn’t turning out how I’d planned so I’m shelving the idea for now. I’ll think on it some more and revisit it later.

Apr 6: starting again with an updated idea. I’m thinking this will work a lot better than my previous plan :-) CO 259 (held doubled) for body and 28 for fringe = 287 total sts.

Thinking that 22 - 24 sts for fringe section with size 9s would be plenty, and maybe 251 sts for body for a total of 275 sts.

Next time I knit this, I’ll use either a tonal or solid yarn. Although the Tabby is very pretty, the stitches get lost in the variegation.

Apr 28: finished, and I’m very happy with it. I’ll be releasing the pattern soon. Blocking now, photos after it’s dry.
