Used a tubular cast-on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITM9Zodn-Uk

did not do twisted rib, needed all the stretch I could get since the yarn is mostly cotton

If I do this again I’d keep the tubular cast-on, and instead of using M1L use KFB to try and eliminate holes. Had to sew up the holes some while weaving in ends. (Better in wool than cotton, I believe.)
