Test-knit for Pladd’s Evelyn Cardigan.

1) I used 2.5mm needle instead of 2.25mm for the bottom edge to accommodate larger hips.

2) I lengthened the body by a total of 3 inches and added (a lot) of waist shaping - see progress for details.

3) I did not work the last neck decrease, otherwise it would have been too small.

----------------Yarn----------------
I am so pleased with this yarn! It is soft, comfortable and can totally go through washer and dryer no problem! The colors are also very soft and overall pleasing to the eye.

January 10th, 2015
Gauge is 28sts on 3mm needle.

Bottom border.
I worked the mock cable border for 3” (instead of 2½“) then switched to larger needle to work in stockinette st until the piece measured 5½” (instead of 4½“).

January 25th, 2015
Waist shaping - Decreases.
I worked the decrease row every 6 rows a total of 7 times, then worked straight until the piece measured 10” (instead of 7½“).

Waist shaping - Increases.
I worked the increase row every 4 rows a total of 7 times, then worked straight until the piece measured 17” (instead of 14”).

February 17th, 2015
Started the first sleeve. I’m really not moving as fast as I would like to on this project, I hope I’ll be able to make it by the end of March.

February 26th, 2015
First sleeve almost done, worked exactly as prescribed, knitting 4” straight after the last increase to reach the underarm.

March 1st, 2015
Just started the second sleeve today, things are going a little slow but fine.

March 6th, 2015
Finished the second sleve, attached them to the body and started the underarm shaping.

March 14th, 2015
Just finished the yoke and the button bands, so my cardigan is officially done! I did not work the last increase in the neck shaping section (k5, k2tog) because it would have been too tight and I also did not do the optional short row shaping.

The only thing left now is to find some cute buttons and sew them on, yay! :)
