Test knit of the Sidestep Poncho from the lovely Nell, made in size small.

Please note the lace section on my poncho is a little different from the pattern as I mistakenly crossed stitches with the cable needle in the back instead of in the front as the pattern dictates.

6 inches in, I realized that I’ve been crossing the stitches wrong - I’ve crossed them with the cable needle in the back instead of the front. Even though it’s not what the pattern calls for, I really like the texture so after talking it out with the designer, I’ll just continue this way.

I haven’t been sharing much, but things are moving along quite nicely. I feel more at ease using German short rows, so that’s what I’m using instead of the technique provided in the pattern.

I’m about 10” after the split, 12 more inches to go and I’m done!

DONE! All that is left is to weave in the ends and block. Should have pictures up by Monday.
