Notes

Test-knit for the modified version of the pattern, in size 37”. This sweater will also be my NaKniSweMo2014, yay! :) I decided to go with Patons Classic Wool and size 4.5mm needles. It’s a little thick, but the gauge is right and we can see the cables very well.

I made it to row 12 on the first night, everything is good so far, the pattern is easy to understand. - 1452 sts.

November 5th
Halfway through the yoke chart. It’s the first time I have ever worked cables, and it’s going great so far. It’s a little bit of a slow progress since I’m not used to it, but I’m sure once the yoke is finished, I’ll just blast through this thing. - 3576 sts

November 14th
Yoke is done, sleeves have been separated from the body, and I’m done with the waist decreases the pattern calls for. Should I add some waist shaping? - 11144 sts. I’m so far behind!

November 16th
Pattern calls for 4 waist decrease rows (1 every 4 rows) and then 4 hip increase rows (1 every 8 rows). Instead, I worked 5 waist decrease rows (1 every 4 rows), worked 2 additional rows of ST stitch, then worked 7 hip increases (1 every 6 rows). As I thought, this pattern goes fast once the yoke is done. - 17890 sts. Somehow, I’m catching up!

November 16th
Knitted 2 inches of plain stockinette stitch after the hip increases, and just started the ribbing. - 20170 sts

November 20th
Just finished the body - amazing fit!!. - 22754 sts
I also just started the button band.

November 22nd
Both button bands are on, but I have no yarn left for the neckband and the sleeves. The 2 additional balls I ordered should be here Wednesday, hopefully. - 25 274 sts. Somehow, I’m really starting to think that I won’t reach 50000sts with this sweater. I guess I’ll just knit the sleeves as long as I can and hope for the best…!

November 24nd
Got the yarn, started right away on the sleeves. I picked up 10 sts instead of 8 in the underarm gap. I’ll also make them long instead of 3/4, repeating the decrease section a total of 11 times. Then I’ll work 2-3” of plain stockinette & 2-3” of ribbing to go over the hands.

November 30th
Sleeves are on, neckband is on. Yay! :) My sweater is complete, at 36355 sts. I’m 13645 sts short for the NaKniSweMo, it’s a shame I don’t qualify, but I’ll plan better next year :)
