I had some yarn left from my V Lace Pullover and wanted to knit a summer top with it; “Burnt” seemed to be a suitable pattern for this yarn; I found it simple, yet understated and elegant.

Although I am very happy with the result, I must admit that I found it a bit boring to knit and once or twice I was tempted to give it up because I didn’t like how it was turning out; the slipped stitches were very irregular. Luckily I forced myself to complete it and after washing it the stitches look much, much better.

The pattern does not say anything about having to change the position of the stitch markers when it comes to the increase section, but I changed it because otherwise the pattern wouldn’t have worked.

Don’t laugh me out, but the most difficult part for me was to sew the back button on correctly. I don’t know how may times I had to sew it on and remove it again before I found the right position for the button so that the hole shape looked ok!
