October 3, 2012:
When I began knitting this project, I didn’t know whether to choose size 34 or size 38; finally I opted for size 38 because I wanted it to have enough ease; now I think that the smaller one would have been better, but okay, it is definitely wearable. I just hope that it will not become bigger over time. The V-neck was hughe, but I managed to make it a bit smaller by taking it in while making the crochet border.
Luckily I knew from the very beginning (from other knitters) that there were a few mistakes in the charts; this made knitting a lot easier. On the other hand, although I love to wear black, my eyes are not the best anymore and even with glasses it was quite a pain to knit with this yarn and in this colour. Sewing the pieces together was even more difficult; I could hardly see what I was doing and it took me various evenings to get it sewn together.
After all, I am happy with the result, I love it, even with cat hairs - it has been impossible to remove all of them - but I really, really hope that it will not grow anymore (when I took it out of the washing machine it was clearly longer than before). And I am afraid that this is the typical piece of cloth that I will not be able to wear very often; in Winter it is too cold for it and in Summer it is too hot (Spring and Autumn almost don’t exist here). But well, I will see!
Sorry for the bad pictures, I will try to take better ones tomorrow.
October 4, 2012:
I have given up! I have taken a few new photographs today but have not been able to catch the details of the tunic. It’s black, and I am sure you know how difficult it is to photograph black projects…
April 19, 2014:
My daughter and I have spent a nice day together in Madrid, I have worn my well-loved Levanto tunic and seized the opportunity to make a few pictures…
The tunic has held its shape very well and after quite a few washes it looks still good!
