I wanted a long, simple cardigan in a neutral colour, the tipical piece of cloth that you can wear with almost everything. This pattern seemed perfect to me.

It was a bit boring to knit, but I am happy with how it has turned out. While I was knitting it I thought that I should have chosen the next bigger size; the cardigan looked really tiny and was a bit tight before washing (too tight to wear it buttoned), but washing and blocking did a little miracle. I hope that it will stretch even more in width and length after the next wash (I will let it dry on a hanger).

The only problem I had was the button band; I had to remove and sew it on again three times before I was more or less satisfied with the result.

Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures. I will try to make better ones another day.

Update (October 24th, 2014):

Although I really liked this cardigan after having completed it, I wore it a few times and noticed that I was not happy at all with the button band, although having sewed it on twice. It simply did not look right.

Finally I decided to dettach the button band and knit a new one by picking up stitches. I like the cardingan so much better now! I prefer to wear it unbuttoned, though. It has turned out a bit smaller than expected… I should have chosen one size more.

Mmmhhhh, after viewing these pictures I think that I should have washed and blocked the cardigan again after knitting the new button band, or I should have picked up more stitches. The front parts are shorter than they should be. I hope that a new blocking will help to fix this issue, otherwise I may have to knit the button band again…
