This is the second time that I have knitted this lovely tunic from Junghans. The first one looks so worn out after various summers of constant wear that I don’t want to wear it any longer.

I like the design so much that I decided to knit this one with some Rowan Calmer yarn that I had left from another project. I thought that I would have enough yarn to complete it, but how wrong I was! When the first skein was used up I saw that I would have to make some changes; in the second set of decreases, I reduced the number of rows between them to save yarn and once I had the right number of stitches on the needle I knitted straight up until I had reached the armholes. The tunic is therefore a bit narrower than it should be.

This was not enough; finally I had to remove a bit from the bottom (about 4 cm) and used the yarn to finish the top. The tunic is now shorter than desired; it falls just a little bit over my hips which are the widest part of me and I don’t find it specially flattering that way. But I
wear it. After all, nobody is perfect!

I am considering knitting yet another one, which will be at least 15 cm longer!
