January 9th, 2021:
My Vishaal… brand new, although I completed it almost one year ago. I wore it yesterday for the first time.
Of course, I dislike the back seam of the collar, but I didn’t know how to do it better. I made a provisional cast-on as stated in the pattern, but I did something wrong because after completing the collar and removing the contrast yarn used for the provisional cast-on there were no live stitches available. I had to pick them up and make a three needle bind-off to join the collar ends together. Now I have this ugly seam, but it doesn’t bother me too much. I can live with it.
The pattern was well written, but in my opinion not clear enough. For example, looking at the pictures of the pattern, I thought that the cable of the back had to sit exactly in the middle of the back, and this did not match with the instructions given in the pattern. I even sent a message to the designer and she kindly answered and told me that the cable had to start on the back of the right shoulder. Had I known this earlier, it would have been much easier for me.
My back cable looks somewhat strange, totally different from the cable shown in the pattern pictures.
I had not enough yarn, therefore the sweater has turned out a bit shorter than desired. I preferred to use the remaining yarn for the sleeves, because I wanted them to be extra long.
All in all I like my Vishaal, I hope to wear it until it falls apart and I am even considering knitting another one
