Notes

31.08.2015:

After getting put down for a while in favour of The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt, I’ve picked this up again. To get the look I’m hoping for, I’ve cast on 4 sts extra at the underarms (2 each side) and switched to 4.5mm needles for the body at the same time. So it’ll be snug enough to not fall off my narrow shoulders but baggy enough to satisfy my nostalgia. Fingers crossed.

06.05.2015:

Two strands held together throughout with. I am approximately 105 cm or 42 inches around the bust but with my loose gauge I have gone with a M2/L1 hybrid to get the look I am going for.

I want this to be a comfy slouchy jumper with a Grunge aesthetic and a modern yet retro colour palette that matches the colours in nature in Brisbane after a storm.

A storm looms over Brisbane

A Jacaranda tree with blue skies

A Silky Oak in flower

I love Holst Coast. It feels like an alternative affordable work-horse yarn for those of us who are ridiculously sensitive to almost all animal fibres. Even Malabrigo itches me, ffs.

07.12.2013

So, I swatched flat when I should’ve swatched in-the-round. I knew the pattern was knit circular, too. Apparently I love swatching so much I’ll make two completely obsolete ones just for fun…

03.12.2013:

Blocked the bias out.

My thoughts on the yarn thus far - so soft and cozy. Perfect for sensitive skin. Blocking flattened the stitches somewhat but I don’t think this is a yarn intended for cable-work. This is going to be one comfy jumper.

02.12.2013:

Two strands held together throughout.

Yellow striped swatch = 4.5mm

This swatch had a bias pre-blocking. I love the fabric but it is a lot bigger than the pattern’s gauge.

17.5 sts x 27.5 rows.

Green striped swatch = 4mm

I untwisted the yarn for 2/3 of this swatch then just let it stay twisted for the last 1/3. There was a visible difference in texture but that disappeared with blocking.

20 sts x 29 rows

Title Song

Come As You Are by Nirvana

Come as you are,
as you were,
as I want you to be
As a friend,
as a friend,
as an old enemy.
Take your time,
hurry up,
the choice is yours,
don’t be late.
Take a rest as a friend as an old memoria.

Memoria
Memoria
Memoria
Memoria

Come doused in mud,
soaked in bleach,
as I want you to be
As a trend,
as a friend
as an old memoria.

Memoria
Memoria

And I swear that I don’t have a gun
No, I don’t have a gun
No, I don’t have a gun

Memoria

Memoria
Memoria

And I swear that I don’t have a gun

No, I don’t have a gun
No, I don’t have a gun
No, I don’t have a gun
No, I don’t have a gun
