I started this on the 19/09/06 - I know this because it was the day I was rushed into hospital for an emergency discectomy at 11pm - 1 hour before my 31st birthday. This is a jumper with true history - just looking at it reminds me of relearning to walk, staples in my back, and my boyfriend having to bathe, toilet (oh yes, the shame), dress and feed me for 3 or so weeks after the op. This is how I know he is “the one”.

I knit both sleeves and then realised that I had made the sleeves a size smaller than the rest of the jumper. In my defense, I was taking a large amount of painkillers at the time.

After knocking my head against a wall several times, I frogged the sleeves and have yet to reknit them.

Hope to have it finished by Janurary - whilst knitting in front of our portable air-con and bemoaning the tropical summer.
